Personal Portrait

At its inception, Personal Portrait was designed to be a measurement of personality factors.  While it can still function as such, the inventory has been superseded in that capacity by the inclusion of the Personality Style Assessment, which is a far superior assessment of personality factors.

The results from Personal Portrait are non-clinical in nature.  They are largely associated with the relational styles of the individual in various contexts.

Family Portrait Inventory

The Family Portrait Inventory is designed to give the therapist a general and broad overview of the home environment.  It is designed to be used with at least the husband and wife.  If there are teenage or adult children in the home, it would be wise to assess them also.  This will give the therapist a good idea of everyone’s views of the home’s environment.

Home Safety Index

The Home Safety Index is designed to uncover situations of domestic violence.  Domestic violence is defined as any behaviors that cause physical, sexual or emotional harm to a spouse.  When the therapist has reason to believe that an individual is in a situation that is oppressive in any way, they should administer the Home Safety Index to determine if domestic violence issues are present.

Personality Style Assessment

The Personality Style Assessment is based on the ten personalities found in the DSM-IV-TR.  Studies have indicated that the disorder descriptions in the DSM can also be reflected in a more stable personality style.  Thus, a person can have an antisocial personality style without having an antisocial personality disorder.  There are specific breaking points for each of the personality styles.  The program contains significant documentation regarding both the strong points and the weak points of each personality style.
